Great Night Out
Thanks to Bri Wood B1 for putting on such a magnificent evening Friday 17th July at the Anchor in Oldbury on Severn. This is always a special event eagerly anticipated by the choir family. The food was excellent and great value. The Petanque was enjoyed by all. The evening was completed by a great mini performance for the packed garden by choristers . This was a fitting end to a great evening.

Great Festival sing
The Choir had a great afternoon at Filton Festival held at Elm Park on Sunday 5th July. Lukely a tent was provided for the entertainment to protect us from the sun.
We hope to be back next year.

Find us. Meet us
New Members are always welcome. If you are interested in joining the choir or just want to drop in, a good first step would be to call into one of our rehearsals.
We meet every Thursday evening from 7.00 to 9.15 pm at
St Andrew's Methodist Church, Elm Park, Filton, BS34 7PS
(It's a good idea to check before you turn up).
At the first rehearsal, you can just sit and listen or get involved straight away if you wish. You don't have to be able to read music but If you can it's clearly an advantage. We learn our music guided by our musical director, a great teacher, and all four parts are recorded individually and are accessible on your home computer. If you decide to join you will be allocated an experienced choir member that sings your part as your singing partner and mentor and you'll be asked by our MD to do a brief voice test that aims to place your voice in the tenors or basses according to your vocal range. After a few months, having learned words and music at regular rehearsals and at home, you will be able to join in your first concert. Our learning aids on the internet are very important as practice tools over and above the regular weekly sessions.
You will find a warm welcome awaiting you, and you can expect to get a lot of support and encouragement from a friendly social group of men who just love to sing. If you're interested or want more information, give our Secretary Malcolm Cheetham a call on 07973232070
or send your details and contact information to secretary@bristolmvc.org.uk

We look forward
to meeting you!
