ABOUT BRISTOL MALE VOICE CHOIR

Since its founding in 1968 Bristol Male Voice Choir has been a stalwart of the musical life of Bristol, recognized for its high standards of performance, and its contribution to the fund-raising work of charities in Bristol and surrounding areas. The range of our musical offerings means that we appeal to a variety of musical tastes, singing everything from pop classics to Bach, gospel songs, modern musicals, Mozart, sea shanties, rugby anthems and male voice standards

Music has taken BMVC on tours and visits to the USA (Singing in the Carnegie Hall, New York), Canada (Singing in front of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth), France (the Dax Festival), Spain, Poland, Austria (Vienna Cathedral) and Germany competing in the Cornwall International Male Choral Festival on many occasions, singing locally in the major Bristol venues, and invited to sing at weddings, anniversaries, Christmas festivals and commemorative occasions, singing not only in English but also Welsh, German, and Italian.

The choir practises and rehearses every week under the inspirational guidance of MD Jo Scullin and accompanist Clair Hiles, meeting in St Andrew's Methodist church, Elm Park, Filton. Our concerts not only entertain our friends and supporters in many venues in Bristol, but raise money for local hospitals, charities, disaster funds and other causes.

We are always ready to welcome new singing members to the choir's ranks, eager to learn the repertoire and enjoy the camaraderie of the tenor, bass and baritone sections; the choir does not require auditions or the ability to read music but after a simple voice test which establishes the best section to match your voice, you will be very welcome to meet up with the choir and join their rehearsal from 7.00-9.15pm every Thursday at St Andrew's Methodist Church, Elm Park, Filton, BS34 7PS. So why not make a fresh start and come and join us ! for more information click on the join us link above
